How We Work

Eight stages, run the way a knit program actually runs.

From the inquiry to the roll on your cutting floor, with the checks placed where they still cost something to fix rather than where they only confirm the damage.

  1. 01

    Inquiry And Quotation

Send the construction, dia or open width, finished GSM, yarn count, quantity per shade and the shade reference, with the date you need the fabric in your store. You get back a rate per kg and a delivery date we can hold. A date that cannot be met is not a date we give, because the supplier who agrees to everything is the one who breaks your shipment.

  2. 02

    Yarn And Knitting

Where the knitting comes to us as well, grey fabric is produced to your count, dia and GSM: single jersey, sinker, pique, lacoste, interlock, rib, fleece or terry. Taking yarn through to finished fabric in one place removes a handover, and with it the argument about whose stage a fault came from.

  3. 03

    Grey Inspection

Grey is checked on the 4-point system before anything is batched, with dia and grey GSM recorded. Barre, needle lines, oil spots and holes are all cheaper to catch here. The same fault found after dyeing is not a fault any more, it is a loss, and by then it is loss on dyed fabric that cannot be re-run.

  4. 04

    Lab Dip And Shade Approval

Lab dips are submitted against your standard, the buyer nominated swatch or a Pantone reference, and go through your buying house where the approval sits with them. They are revised and resubmitted until they are signed off. Nothing goes to bulk on a verbal approval, because the swatch is what a shipment gets inspected against months later.

  5. 05

    Batching And Bulk Dyeing

The batch is prepared against the approved recipe and the lot is kept in one batch wherever the quantity allows. Splitting a lot across batches to gain a day is where shade variation begins, and shade variation is what an inspector writes up and a buyer discounts against.

  6. 06

    Finishing

Tube fabric is squeezed, dried and compacted. Open width is slit, stentered and compacted. Dia or width, finished GSM, shrinkage and spirality are all set here against your specification, and fleece is raised to the pile agreed on the sample. Finishing is where a correctly dyed fabric is still commonly lost.

  7. 07

    Shade Band And Inspection

A shade band is cut and checked against the approved lab dip, side to side and end to end, before anything is released. The fabric is inspected on the 4-point system with finished GSM, dia, shrinkage and spirality recorded. Fabric that does not meet the specification does not go out, because finding it on your cutting table costs both of us far more.

    Delivery

Rolls are delivered to your store with roll-wise weight and shade grouping, so your cutting section can plan lays without opening every roll to find out what it has. Transport is arranged by us.

What Usually Goes Wrong

The four that cost a factory a shipment

Ask any knit merchandiser in Dhaka what a fabric supplier has done to them and you will hear the same four answers. Each one is a decision on our side, not luck.

Shade variation between batches

The lot is kept in one batch wherever quantity allows and checked as a shade band, side to side and end to end, against the approved lab dip. Continuity on the reorder is matched back to the original approval, not re-matched by eye.

Spirality and shrinkage failing after wash

Both are set at finishing against your specification and recorded at inspection, not left to be discovered when the garment comes out of the wash and the whole lot is already cut.

Dia or GSM off specification

Dia and GSM are checked in grey and again after finishing. A dia running short changes your consumption and your costing, and it is your margin that absorbs it, not the fabric supplier who did not check.

Lab dips that drag on

Submissions go out quickly and revisions are turned around rather than queued behind bulk. Every week lost on an approval comes off production time, never off the shipment date.

Working With Buying Houses

Where the approval sits with your buying house

A good part of knit work in Dhaka is placed through a buying house that holds the buyer standard itself.

Where that is your arrangement, we submit lab dips and shade bands to the buying house directly and work to the swatch they approve, so nothing is lost translating a shade through a third party. Your merchandiser stays copied on every submission.

The approved reference stays against the order. When the reorder comes six months later it is matched back to what was signed off originally, which is the whole point of holding it.

Have an order to place?

Send the construction, the quantity, the shade and the date you need it on your cutting floor. You will get a rate and a turnaround we can hold, not a holding reply.
